CONCEPT DRAWING
Dekalb County Firefighter Doug Harms is teaming up with former US Marine and Artist/Sculptor Curtis James Miller in designing a Memorial and Monument that will be located in front of Dekalb County Fire and Police Headquarters. The Monument will pay homage to the 343 New York Firefighters, 60 New York and Port Authority Police Officers and the nearly 2800 civilian victims of the terrorist attacks in New York, Washington D.C. and Shanksville, PA on September 11th, 2001.
Firefighter Harms has received a piece of steel from one of the World Trade Center Towers in New York City to be the centerpiece of the monument. Curtis James Miller has designed and will be sculpting a steel phoenix wing rising from behind the Trade Center steel, honoring America’s resolve to rise above acts of terror.
